A "New" Vacuum Tube Is Born In The USA

Andy Marshall of THD checks out the "NEW" 9022 vacuum tube that Rich and Charles had delivered.
Andy took the 9022 and slapped it into one of his amps. He listened to its performance as he personally put it through some serious tone evaluation. Everyone seemed very pleased.
Andy later said, this experience was the high point of the NAMM show for him.

The New 9022 Vacuum Tube
- Why the 9022 will be the finest audio tube on the market
Hard glass bulb and stem for maximum thermal dissipation and durability.
Precision high dissipation 4 part anode.
High durability low leakage ceramic insulators.
High durability cathode construction.
Precision cathode coating application.
Heavy duty spiral filament enclosed within an extruded ceramic spacer to
eliminate rattle and extend life.
Accurate grid/screen alignment.
Complete cleaning and hydrogen firing of all parts (excluding getters, snubbers, and glass as it would melt) prior to assembly.
Zero defect inspection prior to sealing.
Manual RF bombardment with visual verification to ensure all internal
components are properly out gassed.
Tip-off only occurs after the tube has been confirmed as gas free and an
ultimate vacuum far below most receiving tubes has been attained.
Getter flashing is performed one at a time under visual watch to
eliminate burned barium and promote maximum yield for long life.
Tube aging is accurately controlled to ensure the most efficient
conversion from carbonate to emissive material.
Burn in is performed over a 24 hour period.
Tests are run in both static and dynamic loading conditions.
All tubes are swept through the entire operating spectrum and then
physically listened to to ensure quality.
All rejects are eliminated to ensure that only suitable tubes make it to
market.
Periodic samples are destructively tested to ensure maximum duty and
reliability.
Technical assistance for the 9022 project has been supplemented by individuals from both in and out of American vacuum tube manufacturing industry.
We will not be selling to dealers.
We will only be working with OEM customers during this evaluation period. (for non disclosure purposes)
Design personnel are involved from several industrial tube manufacturers, and with those from receiving tube companies on a consult basis.
All parties involved are credentialed in their areas of expertise and have spent the majority of their careers at work in their respective fields. (electronics, chemistry, physics, etc. no hobbyists or guru's allowed)
Sale to the public will only be conducted through our central office by the same personnel that can render technical help.
All evaluation tubes will be tracked for useage and returned after the completion of testing with the appropriate data for further study, testing, and evaluation. (no samples will be "given away")
After the DATA has been collected and any changes have been made, tentative data specs will be printed, pricing declared, and sale dates will be released.
Preliminary data will be released to OEM customers upon the signed and notarized return of our non-disclosure document.
Public specs will be released upon the confirmation and verification that all testing is complete and all evaluation pieces are accounted
for.
We realize that these terms may seem a bit restrictive, however we take the quality of our products very seriously and if we feel that they may be compromised in any way we will place a hold on the project until the item is addressed.
